Sola Gratia: By Grace Alone

Mar 2, 2026    Pastor Steve Finley

You were never meant to carry the weight of proving your worth to God. Martin Luther spent years punishing himself—fasting, sleep deprivation, even self-flagellation—desperately trying to earn God's love. But when he finally opened Scripture, everything changed.

The truth? You'll never be good enough. But Jesus is. And that's the entire point of the gospel. When the enemy whispers your failures and unworthiness, you can answer: "You're right—I'm not worthy. But I know Someone who is, and His name is Jesus Christ."

Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." The measuring stick was never you or me—it was always Jesus. His righteousness covers our shame. His sacrifice outweighs our sin.

Stop striving. Start trusting. Grace alone saves you.
