Ezekiel 1-3
Ever feel like God's plan for your life took an unexpected turn? Ezekiel trained his entire life to serve as a priest in the temple—only to be taken captive to Babylon before he could fulfill that calling. Everything he worked for seemed lost. But God had a different plan.
In the midst of captivity, Ezekiel encountered the glory of God in an overwhelming vision and was called to be a prophet. His message? Speak truth even when people won't listen. God told him plainly: "Whether they hear or refuse, they will know that a prophet has been among them." The words were sweet as honey in his mouth but bitter in his stomach—because truth is both beautiful and costly.
Here's the challenge for us today: Are we willing to share God's truth even when it's uncomfortable? God told Ezekiel that if he failed to warn people, their blood would be on his hands. We live under a new covenant, but the Great Commission still calls us to speak up. The fear of an awkward conversation is nothing compared to standing before a holy God knowing we stayed silent.
