Luke 4:40-5:11

Are you asking Jesus to follow you, or are you following Jesus? That is the heart of this week's message from Luke 4-5, where two very different responses to Christ are on display.

The people of Capernaum wanted Jesus to stay and keep making their lives comfortable. Peter, Andrew, James, and John saw the power of Christ and left everything behind to follow him. One group wanted a genie. The other found a mission.

The gospel is not a vending machine. Jesus did not come to make your temporary life easier. He came to offer you eternal life, a new identity, and a purpose worth giving everything for. The question is whether you are humble enough to follow him or whether you want him to follow you.
