Luke 2:21-38

Simeon and Anna spent YEARS faithfully seeking the Messiah—and when they finally saw baby Jesus, they didn't make it about themselves. They simply pointed everyone to Him, then faded into the background of history.

Simeon had been promised by the Holy Spirit that he wouldn't die before seeing the Christ. So he showed up at the temple day after day, actively looking. When Joseph and Mary brought Jesus for dedication, Simeon held Him and declared, "My eyes have seen your salvation" (Luke 2:30). Anna, an old widow who spent her days in prayer and fasting, immediately began telling everyone that redemption had arrived.

Their legacy? They're remembered not for themselves, but for pointing others to Jesus. What if we lived that way—so focused on Christ that we become background characters in a story that's all about Him? That's a life worth living.
